Hello there,
Yesterday I have tried to update BOINC on my Raspberry Pi, but it hadn't started and so I had to reinstall it. After it I got at R@h a new Host-ID. But I can't set the location on the map now

Three WUs are ready, but for half the credits.

Message 3979 - Posted: 28 Jun 2021 | 13:21:33 UTC

I lost my connections to the project a while ago, because I had used a fixed IP in my host file, about wich I forgot. Therefore I could not even reach this pages her for help.

Last week I got a reminder from a co-cruncher about this, and a hint about the host file as well, so I restarted the project. The machine is running again, but I only get half the credits, because I can't set a location for my detector, there simply is no map in the host page.

How can this be sorted out?

Hi,
Got an eMail, my sensor has no location (anymore). And really, can't find the map anymore to (re)set location. Somebody has the link to where it's moved?
Thank you

Could it be possible to just write the coordinates somewhere instead of an interactive map?

I've just got the second mail with a reminder:

Hello,

Your sensor connected to host 19613 has no location set.
Please go to your host page at http://radioactiveathome.org/boinc/show_host_detail.php?hostid=19613
and add a marker on the map
You don't have to set precise location, ± couple of hundreds of meters is fine.
Hosts with no location are granted only half of the credits.

This is an automated message from Radioactive@Home server.
If you have any questions, please visit our forums at http://radioactiveathome.org/boinc/forum_index.php

But still nothing changed, I cannot put my location anywhere but here.

I just got the third mail of this spam, and still nothing has been done at all by the project.
I really feel a wee bit neglected, as you still spam me with this mails, that I can't do anything about, because you simply don't allow me to do anyrging about.
Stop this spam asap, or do your fucking job and let me put the coordinates somehow somewhere!

One and a half month, and two spam mails with useless content, farther, and still absolutely nothing has happened. Loud and telling silence by those who obviously don't care about this abandoned project.

Clearly, no map, no location possible.
From what I understand, Google no longer accepts that the project uses the developer version of its map.
There are free maps that could be used for the radioactive project, but we are back to the same problem, someone would have to code to integrate a new map.

Yes, but at least the coordinates should be possible to insert, now nobody knows where the nuclear accident happened, if my detector shows up something in the mS range instead of µS. So my detector is just a detector somewhere unknown.

At least you have a graph and getting half credits. My sensor is lit up and working fine, but I can no longer run tasks for this project as it says there is no app which will run on my Linux box (it's lying, there is, I haven't changed the computer just upgraded to a newer version of Linux). So I have a pretty USB geiger counter and that's it. Nobody else can see it but me. It's a pity, this was a fun project while it had support, but I feel nobody has the technical knowledge to answer/fix these problems now. :(

Hello Saenger,

For me the 3rd is 19090 and the 4th is 15201
the 3rd is my user Id within the project, the 4th is the Id of my sensor.

but as you state it is impossible to enter values in the first two fields.

An upgrade to a newer version of Linux may have removed needed files, or substituted newer versions without needed lines. What did you do in the previous version to get the project going?

Not a single sensor in the Netherlands anymore, coincidence?

If it did my detector would have sprung to live on the project, but not a single detector is 'live' in the Netherlands at the moment -see map. The map also shows only one reactor here, while there are four, three active (Petten -experimental, Delft -educational, Borssele) and one deactivated (Dodewaard).

No, it doesn't. I can insert what I want, it doesn't change anything. Neither under Windows/Chrome nor under Linux/FF.

(Warning: Issues discussed here (today april,14 2022) may already be solved if s.o. reads some hours later!)
I'm not sure, but i think that the "add sensor" function has mixed up longitude and latitude - or was that me? Maybe you can add some help:

Latitude: ##.##### degrees north (of the equator) - Longitude: ##.##### degrees east (of greenwich)

Well, the "add sensor!" button is working, but can you tell us about the delay between entering coordinates and the spot on map changing position please

In the end I solved it by attaching my sensor to another (Windows) system and even managed -don't ask me with which version of tried settings- to add my sensor on the map.

Latitude: ##.##### degrees North (of the Equator) - Longitude: ##.##### degrees East (of Greenwich)

seems too simplistic, you could also be South of the Equator and/or West of Greenwich, so I also tried with added N and E in my settings.

I did work, it just never ever did show up on my computer's detail page. No map and no coordinates there, but after a wee while my detector showed up on the map. Worked as well as I moved the detector to my new computer (same place, just faster, but that's irrelevant here), but only the next day, not asap.

Patience you must have.
