The capo is completely shiny as can be but isn't gold or silver. It fits my style better. It looks good on my lighter color guitars and it looks fantastic on my darker guitars as well. Just like my brothers capo, my new capo is (tough|strong} and my instrument stays in tune. I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to everyone. I was pleased that it was furnished with 10 plectrums as a gift. I can try the different picks and find out which ones I like the best.
