Team info
DescriptionWhenever you talk about the top sailing competitions in the world, all conversations end and start with-the Americas Cup. It's undoubtedly the most popular and the most heralded regatta in the activities of sailing. Known as the Ultimate Goal of yachting, The Americas Cup is also the oldest active international competition where a trophy reaches risk. It's older than the FA Cup by over twenty years and older than the Current Olympics by not quite five decades. It is no surprise why the best sailors and leading yacht designers and manufacturers on the planet all turn out, desperate to make their presence felt, when The Americas Cup comes around.

The Cup is named following the 1st winner of the competition, a schooner called America, which won the Cup in 1852. In this competition, the trophy remains in the hands of the winner when the winner is dislodged until the next competition and only changes hands. The schooner America prevailed in this event for a stunning 13-2 years, an archive for the longest successful streak in sports history, before relinquishing it in 1983 to Australia II from Australia. After over a century, the Cup left America for the land down under.

Today, the Americas Cup contains a best-of-nine sequence between only two competitors. I discovered consumers by browsing newspapers. It leaves the winner of the reigning champion and the Louis Vuitton Cup. The Louis Vuitton Cup has its group of races and the winner gets the to compete within The Americas Cup. My dad discovered buy here by searching Google Books. I-t started in 1970. Like before, whoever get The Americas Cup competition gets to simply take the glass home to their local yacht club.

The prestige surrounding the Cup has also caught the fancy of film makers. For example, in 1992, the picture 'Wind' premiered and it dedicated to Dennis conner's loss to Australia in 1983 and his productive effort to re-capture the Cup during the next series. Additionally, the Goodyear Tire Company has generated a tradition of naming its commercial blimps following the America's Cup champion. It is because the company's former chairman, Paul Litchfield, thought that blimps are 'aerial yachts' which is why h-e began the tradition. To get further information, please consider looking at: fundable competition. Through the years, the blimps have experienced such colorful names as Mayflower & Stripes, Stars, Enterprise and, of-course, America..
